Acquiring these endorsements is something you’ll need to start working on early, often before you’ve finished writing the book. The best endorsements and support comes from the relationships you build with others. You have to plan ahead and engage like minded people you want to connect with, those you share things in common with. These colleagues, contacts and perhaps mentors, will be more likely to make time for you and your book when the time comes, because they know, like and trust you.

You wouldn’t personally endorse a book of someone you didn’t know, like and trust. So appreciate this is the same for others, regardless of how good you think your book is.

Your credentials

This sometimes precedes the main copy, establishing yourself as an authority on your topic, along with your experience and why you are in the position to show or teach others. Readers want to know the person offering this information they are taking time to read and shell out good money for, is genuine.

It’s crucial to have these main key elements of, what’s in it for them, why you are the expert to teach or show this and what other noteable people say about your book. Take these on board so you know how to write a blurb that sells. If you do, you’ll be well on your way to creating a compelling back cover blurb which will reach out and grab hold of readers.
